I decided to copy paste that here since I thought they had a point. This topic had lots of upvotes and agreements in another subreddit.
I'm not the one that wrote this but besides the tone of it that is a bit extreme, there's nothing wrong with it. Hopefully, developers will turn away from this approach on things before it's too late. Censorship of nudity and gore are one of the few things that can make D2 fans really angry, considering D2 was a Mature rated game and D2R is also going to be rated Mature.Įspecially after the WC3: Reforged fiasco, Blizzard should have stayed away from things like this to begin with. Blizzard is walking a dangerous path here and a great care must be taken.
However, after reading the questions in Blizzard's official survey for the game, I'm getting a bit worried.
I like how D2R looks so far and what the developers say about it but this censorship and less action blood - certainly not plentiful and bright like the original's - are one of my few complaints. Check the Butcher's room and D2's Andariel room first and then compare them to the new Andariel's room in D2R where the bodies were deliberately made less noticable.
